UnitedHealth Group, the largest health insurer in the United States, released its fourth-quarter and full-year 2021 results, which exceeded analysts' expectations. The company reported adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $5.31 for the quarter, well above the FactSet consensus estimate of $4.39 per share. Revenue for the quarter surged by almost 16% to $93 billion.
For 2024, UnitedHealth forecast adjusted EPS of $27.50 to $28.00 per share, which is largely in line with the analysts' average estimate of $27.90. The company also projected revenue in the range of $400 billion to $403 billion.
